This work is a follow-up to the paper “Twelve Theses on Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Sociality” that we published five years ago. It explains why the previous work holds true and examines the evolution of AI in contemporary capitalist society.
The paper provides an overview of recent changes resulting from the widespread integration of AI technologies into society’s daily life and explores developments influenced by the incorporation of AI instruments into everyday human practices.
The authors analyze specialized literature dealing with AI and present findings from their own research. They define the conceptual foundations for social analytics in AI and explain the logic underlying the growing interdependence between humans and AI instruments. The discussion addresses both the potential and actual revolutionary changes in artificial thinking and computer technologies. The paper highlights new conceptual frameworks, including alternate sociality, algorithm or machine interdependence, and human-centered AI. The authors conclude that the compatibility of AI tools with humanity currently depends on their social acceptability, emphasizing the importance of understanding the rapid and unpredictable changes that arise when AI is integrated into specific social, cultural, and economic practices.
