Russia at the Crossroads of Socio-Political Trajectories

The article analyses the processes of sociopolitical development of the Russian society. The study is based on the results of sociological monitoring “How do you live, Russia?” conducted by the author in the Institute for socio-political studies, Russian Academy of Sciences in 1992–2011. The article considers the problem of stability of the socio-political development of the country over the recent two decades, as well as the future perspectives. The author analyses the role of the middle class in the modern society putting attention to the global trends and Russian reality. The article raises the question about the Russian civilization strategy of development in the context of the global strategies existing today.
