New! Authors' Guidelines for AI Tool Usage
As of September 2025, the guidelines for authors of the journal Monitoring of Public Opinion: Economic and Social Changes have been supplemented with rules regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence tools in research and article preparation. Please study these guidelines before submitting your manuscript.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Research and Article Preparation
If authors used AI tools while conducting research or preparing the article, this must be clearly stated in the article or accompanying materials. In particular:
- When using AI tools to collect, process, or analyze data, as well as to search and summarize literature, or to prepare (write/compile) the article text itself or compose illustrations, the relevant information must be included directly in the manuscript text in the methodology section, introduction, or other relevant sections;
- When using AI tools for editing, proofreading, or translating text, compiling the bibliography, or for other purely technical tasks, the relevant information must be included in the editor's notes when submitting the manuscript for review through the online editorial service on the website.
Information on the use of AI tools refers to a list of specific language models or other AI tools, their versions, and the date (or date range) on which the authors accessed them. If AI tools were used to solve substantive problems (searching and summarizing literature, collecting, processing, and analyzing data, etc.), authors must be prepared to provide the text of the queries (prompts) and the responses received, i.e., a transcript of the dialogue with the language model. These materials are not subject to publication but may be reviewed by the editors as is the case with the source data for illustrations and calculations included in the manuscript.
The authors of the publication bear full responsibility for the materials submitted for editorial review. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be considered as authors of the publication. Authors are required to conduct verification and critical analysis of materials prepared using AI tools, fact-checking, and, in the case of working with text material, scientific and literary editing.
The editors of the scientific journal reserve the right to use specialized tools to verify the uniqueness of publication texts and identify fragments, data, and facts created using AI tools. If signs of the use of AI tools without disclosure, coupled with factual errors, are discovered in the work, the editors reserve the right to reject the manuscript.
