Меняющаяся политическая поляризация в США: причины изменений и способствующие факторы

Исследования политической поляризации в США стали одной из самых важных тем в современной политической науке в последние 15 лет. Этому способствовали появление и стремительный рост феномена аффективной поляризации, а также новые шаги в изучении других ее форм. Автор следует тренду в исследовании форм поляризации, пытаясь связать аффективную и идеологическую формы поляризации между собой. Помимо теории о политической поляризации, важную роль в работе играет теория социальных размежеваний: именно разделения между социальными группами могут стать факторами, повлиявшими на рост поляризации в разных ее формах. Различные группы могут быть заинтересованы в разных политических решениях спорных вопросов или просто поддерживать разных кандидатов, что становится причиной роста аффективной поляризации. Цель работы — обнаружение влияния конкретных групп на рост политической поляризации в разных ее формах.
В исследовании на основе данных опросов общественного мнения, собранных в рамках Comparative Study of Electoral Systems, рассматриваются изменения уровня политической поляризации в США и факторы, повлиявшие на них. В ходе работы было составлено 15 регрессионных моделей, в которых на основании данных за пять избирательных циклов с 2004 по 2020 г. протестированы факторы, влияющие на увеличение политической поляризации. Результаты показали близкую зависимость друг от друга двух типов политической поляризации ― аффективного и позиционного. Помимо этого, в результатах выделены социальные группы, которые становятся более поляризованными, чем все остальное общество, например американские женщины (особенно поддерживающие Демократическую партию). В качестве главного вывода исследования установлена близкая взаимосвязь аффективного и позиционного типов поляризации, а также нестабильное, но всегда оказываемое влияние таких социально-демографических характеристик, как раса, пол и уровень образования, на рост поляризации.
